6th Boys Red Upsets Ft. Zumwalt South

Trailing by 12 midway through the first half of Sunday’s contest against Ft. Zumwalt South Red the Jr. Eagles had a decision to make. Give up and consider the game a learning experience, or up the intensity of their defense and shift the momentum. Fortunately for the Eagles, they opted for the latter and shrunk the first half Bulldogs lead to 8 at halftime.

The Bulldogs would score the first four points of the second half before the Eagles made another run. Tavius Neistat would convert two steals into a quick four points and Daniel Wissler would hit a 3 to get the Eagles back in the game. Neistat would later knock down a huge 3 point shot from the corner to reduce the Bulldog margin to two. Jotham Daniels would add two made free throws down the stretch, giving him 8 points in the 2nd half to take the game to overtime.

The Eagles would ultimately win by two, 36-34 over the same team they lost to by 30 points in the CNR Pre Season tournament.  The Eagles move to 5-2 for the regular season and look forward to a match up against another GAC team, Ft. Zumwalt North, on Sunday.
