Once tryouts are done, what’s next?

Once tryouts are done, what’s next?

Day 1 of our 4 day tryout process is in the books.  It was great to see so many returning players along with quite a few new faces last night at our opening night of tryouts. Last night we welcomed the girls (grades 3 – 7) and the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade boys.

A common question heard from parents was, “So what’s next”?

First of all, if your child is able to attend another tryout session at his / her grade level, we recommend participating in as many sessions as possible. We realize there are conflicts on certain nights, hence we make available multiple nights for each grade level. However, more reps and opportunity to get in front of the coaches is always beneficial for the player.

The last night of tryouts is Thursday, September 10th. Once we’ve finished hosting the tryouts, we will begin working through the evaluators comments / observations along with reviewing the video captured from many of the tryout sessions.

It is our intent to provide a playing opportunity for each player attending the tryout. We have a few barriers that limit the number of teams we can accommodate, thereby limiting the number of players in the program.

1.) Available coaches

2.) Available practice gym space

At this time, based on the number of players registered, we anticipate being able to provide a playing opportunity for everyone interested. That being said, should we continue to get late registrations and our numbers increase, we may be required to limit the number of participants and subsequently make “cuts”. Should a cut be necessary, we will aim to inform those affected by Friday, September 18th.

Team assignments won’t be made until late September or early October. Historically we’ve been able to get the players back in the gym again before finalizing team rosters.

Should you have any questions about this process you are always welcome to email Dustin HERE.
