Successful Opening Day for Bombers Basketball in CNR League

It was a weekend full of basketball action as Bombers Basketball teams canvassed area gyms Saturday and Sunday as the opening weekend of CNR Basketball 2014-15 tipped off.

The effort is to be commended across the board from our Bombers teams, win or lose. As a group, the Bombers enjoyed more wins than losses as teams opened up regular season action in the CNR league, while others finished their final regular season weekend of the Fall Renaud League.

Congratulations to our each of our 6th grade teams on notching their first victories of the regular season this weekend.  Our 6th Grade-Rapplean team won 2 of their 3 games in what was a very busy opening weekend.

Our 5th grade boys notched their first victory of the year on Sunday at St. Charles Hardin, finishing 1-1 on opening weekend.

The 4th and 5th grade Lady Bombers enjoyed a successful Sunday as well, both capturing victories in their first games of the 2014-15 season on Sunday.

On an individual level, we want to recognize the following players for being identified as their coaches as “Players of the Game” from this weekend’s action.

  • 7th Grade (Collins) – Grant H.
  • 6th Grade (Ashby) – Jacob P. (Jake knocked down a game winning free throw in sudden death double overtime to secure the win)
  • 6th Grade (Rapplean) – Michael (Michael played great defense for his team) and Jake (Jake hit the boards hard)
  • 5th Grade (Ashby) – Noah V. and Jaxson C.

**Coaches can send their Player of the Game in and we’ll be sure to update the website.

Compliments of the Dairy Queen on Bryan Road, each Player of the Game will receive a FREE Blizzard.  Coaches will have the coupons to distribute at this week’s practices.
