Thank you for your interest in the Bombers Basketball / Liberty Feeder Program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What exactly is a Feeder program and why does it benefit my son/daughter to affiliate with a program like this?
A: A feeder program consists of players that will someday be attending the same high school. In our case, we’re organizing teams comprising future Liberty High School students. It’s our goal to help youth basketball players to learn the game, expand their personal skill set while being introduced to a philosophy and culture consistent with the Liberty High School boys and girls program. Players that participate in the Bombers Basketball program will show up at their high school tryouts prepared to contribute to their team in a meaningful way.
Q: I coach a team and 4 of my 8 players will be attending Liberty High School in the future. Are we able to bring our team into the program even if we have players from other school’s attendance areas?
A: Yes, it’s important that we don’t alienate or abandon youth basketball players in the process of developing Liberty High School Feeder teams. We offer both “Club” and “Feeder” teams allowing us to accommodate players from other attendance areas.
Q: What will it cost to participate on a Bombers Basketball Team?
A: It depends on which team your son or daughter is on. The cost will be driven by the number of games your team plays, including the number of tournaments your team participates in. We’ve estimated costs for each grade level – HERE – but please understand those are estimates at this point.
Q: Where will our teams practice?
A: The Bombers Basketball Program has secured practice gym time at Wentzville South Middle School on Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6pm – 9pm. We will be assigning coaches / teams a practice time once we understand how many teams and at what levels the program will have for the upcoming season.
Q: How often will each team practice?
A: We’re anticipating being able to offer one team practice per week. Additionally, we’d like to offer a skills training session for our players in addition to their weekly team practice.
Q: I don’t how my son/daughter will stack up against other players in their grade level? Will you have teams of varying skill levels available allowing my child the time to learn the game?
A: Yes. We want anyone interested in playing basketball to feel comfortable joining us. Ideally we’ll have two or even three teams at each grade level allowing us to match the players up by skill level allowing us to properly challenge them and further develop their personal skill set.
Q: I have a Kindergarten student who has shown interest in basketball. Do you have teams for the younger kids?
A: Yes, we currently have three 3rd grade teams and a Kindergarten team affiliated with the program. As long as we get the support from a parent willing to coach the team we’ll gladly offer teams at the 1st grade and 2nd grade levels to go with our existing younger teams.
Q: If I wanted to coach a team, who should I reach out to?
A: Email Dustin Ashby at dustin@bombersbasketball.org. Thank you in advance for your desire to help introduce basketball to our area youth.
